here are the documented evidences about the "trick" has been made:

that's what have done to fake it as "new" and earn extra money:
you get an OK condition pebble steel with a electronics-broken screen. replace the leather-strap with an "almost" new and original leather strap from pebble.
- first mistake, you put it on reverse... upper part put down, lower part put the top (strap)
- you put back the original screen sticker to pretend it as "new".. a bit dirty sticker
- you put back it's original boxing
- seal it with "original like" stickers.
- sold it as a "new" one.
